Former Prince Andrew’s arrest seems to have brought some relief for Prince William. It has been reported earlier that the Prince of Wales has been adamant to remove the ex-prince from the palace since the beginning of the controversy. However, looking at the progress, William is now “overjoyed” with the arrest of Andrew from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

Since the controversy came to light, Prince William “wanted Andrew totally cast out of the royal family.” However, as per reports, the Prince of Wales is now satisfied with the way things are progressing after the arrest of the former Duke of York. He is especially happy with his father, King Charles’ “unprecedented actions” to support Thames Valley Police investigating his brother, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

“William is absolutely overjoyed by this. He sees it as proof that the institution is finally willing to draw a hard line with Andrew, and that gives him confidence he will be able to act decisively when he becomes king,” one senior palace insider exclusively told OK! Magazine.

Another source added that the Prince of Wales dislikes “what Andrew represents and believes he has brought lasting shame on the monarchy.” But to see the king ”openly back the police tells William that there will be no consequences if he is even tougher in the future.”

William and his wife Kate Middleton even issued a rare joint comment saying they were “deeply concerned by developments” surrounding the former prince amid the latest developments and that their “thoughts remain focused on the victims.” For the future monarch, this move “isn’t about optics. It’s about accountability.” William “feels vindicated seeing the palace take this stance and believes it clears the path for him to finish the job when his time comes.”
