Kate Middleton and Prince William had a date night at the BAFTAs.
The Prince and Princess of Wales were in attendance at the 2026 EE BAFTA Film Awards, the British equivalent of the Oscars, on Sunday, Feb. 22. Prince William, there in his capacity as President of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), presented the BAFTA Fellowship Award, the Academy’s highest honor, to Dame Donna Langley for her outstanding contribution to film.
Royal photographer Andrew Parsons snapped a few behind-the-scenes photos of the couple backstage at the event, including one of them sharing a laugh while riding together in an elevator.

In another sweet moment captured by the photographer, William put his hand on Kate's back as the pair arrived at the event.
Prince William and Princess Kate are regular supporters of the BAFTAs; however, this is the first time they've attended the awards together since 2023. They didn't attend last year, and William came solo in 2024, sharing his regret that his wife couldn't join amid her cancer diagnosis and treatment.

Their appearance was the latest outing by members of the royal family since the arrest of the former Prince Andrew on Thursday, Feb. 19. King Charles' brother was apprehended by police at Wood Farm, the home where he is currently staying on the royal family's Sandringham estate, after being forced to give up his Windsor home, Royal Lodge, when he was stripped of his titles last fall.

Andrew, 66, is being investigated on suspicion of misconduct in public office, related to his email correspondence with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He was held by police for around 11 hours before he was photographed leaving the station.
Just hours after the arrest, King Charles made an appearance at London Fashion Week, Queen Camilla attended a concert and met with musicians in London and Princess Anne carried out a planned engagement at a men’s prison.
Members of the public have been regularly asking about Andrew at royal engagements, and the BAFTAs were no exception. As they walked the red carpet, Kate in a striking pink gown and William in a coordinating burgundy suit jacket, an attendee called out, "Is the monarchy in peril?"
The royal couple avoided the question and made their way inside without comment.
Only the King has publicly commented on his brother's arrest so far. He released a statement following the news, saying, "I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office. What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.
The statement, released by Buckingham Palace, continued, "In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation. Let me state clearly: the law must take its course. As this process continues, it would not be right for me to comment further on this matter. Meanwhile, my family and I will continue in our duty and service to you all."
While Prince William and Princess Kate did not release a statement of their own, it's understood that they support the King's statement.
