Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s return to the professional boxing ranks will begin against a familiar foe from the prime of his career in an intriguing venue.

Mayweather will fight Manny Pacquiao on September 13, 2026, in a Netflix boxing event broadcast from The Sphere in Las Vegas, the streaming service confirmed on Feb. 23. This comes on the heels of Mayweather's previously announced exhibition bout against Mike Tyson and his recent announcement that he plans to end his retirement and resume his professional career following the Tyson matchup.

Mayweather and Pacquiao initially went head-to-head in the ring in 2015 after years of negotiations in what was billed as the "Fight of the Century." Mayweather won by unanimous decision in an underwhelming fight, but the event broke records for pay-per-view buys and live gate revenue at the time.

Now, they've agreed to a rematch with both years removed from the heights they reached leading into their first bout. Mayweather turns 49 years old on Feb. 24. Pacquiao is 47 years old and lost by majority draw last year against then-WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios after a four-year hiatus from professional boxing.

When is the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao 2?

Netflix confirmed Mayweather vs. Pacquiao 2 is on for September 13, 2026 at The Sphere in Las Vegas. It will be the first professional boxing event held at The Sphere, which opened in 2023 and features an immersive viewing experience.

"I already fought and beat Manny once," Mayweather declared in a statement released through Netflix. "This time will be the same result.”

“Floyd and I gave the world what remains the biggest fight in boxing history," Pacquiao added in his own statement. "The fans have waited long enough – they deserve this rematch, and it will be even bigger now that it will be streamed live globally on Netflix. I want Floyd to live with the one loss on his professional record and always remember who gave it to him. As always, I dedicate this fight to my fellow Filipinos around the world and to bringing glory to the Philippines."

Mayweather previously announced plans for a rematch with Pacquiao in 2018, but the fight never occurred.

When is Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Mike Tyson fight?

Mayweather and Tyson announced in September 2025 that they had agreed to an exhibition match in the spring of 2026, but a date and venue have not been officially announced yet. They are planning a fight in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Africa, on April 25, according to Ring Magazine.

Tyson, 59, last fought in Nov. 2024 against Jake Paul, which resulted in a loss by unanimous decision. Mayweather initially retired after his August 2017 win over UFC star Conor McGregor with a perfect 50-0 record as a professional. He subsequently competed in several exhibition boxing matches against Logan Paul, Mikuru Asakura and John Gotti III.

When is Manny Pacquiao's next fight?

Pacquiao (62-8-3) also has an exhibition match scheduled before he faces Mayweather after failing to get a rematch with Barrios. He will take on former light welterweight world champion Ruslan Provodniko on April 18 at Thomas & Mack Arena in Las Vegas, according to Pacquiao's official website.

Known as Floyd "Money" Mayweather, as he compiled a 50-0 record during his boxing career, Mayweather is considered one of the highest-paid athletes of all-time. He has earned an estimated $1.15 billion during his boxing career, according to Sportico estimates, with his biggest reported paydays in 2017 against McGregor ($275 million) and in 2015 against Pacquiao ($250 million).

It's unclear what Mayweather's net worth is in 2026, though he made clear in a written statement to ESPN that money was part of the motivation for ending his retirement from professional boxing.

"I still have what it takes to set more records in the sport of boxing," Mayweather said. "From my upcoming Mike Tyson event to my next professional fight afterwards -- no one will generate a bigger gate, have a larger global broadcast audience and generate more money with each event -- than my events.

Mayweather signed with CSI Sports/Fight Sports as his promoter for this stage of his boxing career. Mayweather's most recent appearance in the boxing ring was an exhibition bout against Gotti in August 2024.
